If you had told me years ago that I’d one day dedicate my life to helping people with insurance, I might not have believed you. But life has a beautiful way of leading us exactly where we’re meant to be.
I didn’t start in insurance. In fact, I began my professional journey as a teacher. I’ve always had a passion for helping others understand important things—especially things that could change their lives. But when my family and I moved to Miami in the 1980s, I found myself facing new opportunities, new challenges, and ultimately, a new calling.
🌱 A New Beginning in Florida
Coming to Florida after growing up in Iowa (and originally being from Cuba), I knew what it felt like to rebuild, to adapt, and to look for stability. Like so many people I meet now—immigrants, retirees, young families—I wanted to create something secure for myself and those I loved.
That’s when I discovered the world of insurance.
To be honest, I didn’t know much about it at first. But the more I learned, the more I realized how powerful and meaningful it could be. This wasn’t just about selling policies—this was about protecting families, preserving legacies, and offering people peace of mind in uncertain times.
❤️ Insurance Is Personal
In my first year as an insurance broker, I sat across from a couple in their 60s who had just retired. They were warm, kind, and completely lost when it came to Medicare and life insurance. They felt overwhelmed and uncertain. I walked them through every option, every benefit, every cost—slowly, clearly, and with patience.
When we finished, the woman looked at me and said, “I feel like I can breathe again.”
That moment stayed with me. Because that’s why I do what I do.

- Insurance can be confusing—but it doesn’t have to be. With the right guidance, anyone can make informed, confident decisions for their future.
- Every client is different. Some want to leave a legacy. Others just want to make sure their spouse isn’t left with financial stress. No two situations are the same—and I love that.
- What matters most isn’t the policy. It’s the person. I never forget that I’m sitting across from someone’s parent, grandchild, or best friend. That’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly.
